Satan's Talk Show from 1993 / And other stuff

Embedding is disabled by request.. but that's not gonna stop us!

Here's the link to the greatest show on earth (atleast back in 1993 anyway)
https://youtu.be/IADb6kWjugI

here's Satan. hosting his talk show in proper fashion

and here's god, his special guest.

Trash talking callers, people having sex in the studio and wanking off on (and offscreen: callers are wankin off to Morticia the sex slave being fondled by the Sexecutioner) live tv. Yeah, I thought it was pretty entertaining.

So what's up?

This summer has been really (Really) amazing for me. After all that's happened which I won't go into full detail with, I went back into my cave and went on a Hong Kong Horror spree which I would rate later. Most of them were good, they were 80s-90s asian style sleaze and splatter horror which hit real close to home as Filipino horror from that period were reaaal nice since CGI wasn't the vogue yet. A real treasure, those old school Hong Kong horror films. I got to learn about their culture, paranormal folklore, and Black Magic. Also here's the holy grail of Supernatural shit from China:

Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio

I've also been reading up on Filipino Faith Healers since I discovered my deceased father's (Happy Father's day Dad!) collection of spiritual books. I never knew he was into these and wow these are..fucked up. They claim to be doing surgeries without anesthesia and are able to open up bodies without tools. I believe they really were able to do it before they got famous and greed took over. Even if you can't prove it I mean, what is Science if not, at first, a really weird, unconventional, strongly disagreeable phenomena? if those terms don't explain it, it probably isn't all that new and original.

Here's a sample of Philippine Faith Healers opening abdomens and taking shit out from eyes and goo from feet. Healing in the country was popular in... I don't really know how long. Roughly the 70s or 80s.

And here's an independently made documentary from a married couple that spent most of 1985 filming Filipino Faith Healers specifically Alex Orbito:

Well.. now I'm bored typing on. I'm gonna go out for a smoke but heres the list of HK horror shit I'm done with and rated:

色鬼投胎 (about 1990) 3/5
Reminded me of a long lost television show called Kagat ng Dilim which was made of nightmares.

Dead Curse 猛鬼迫人 (1985) 1.5/5

The Black Magic with Buddha 脑魔 腦魔 (1983) 3.5/5
Brains galore! The first time I've ever seen a brain-man.

Cannibal Curse 处女降 處女降 (1987) 3/5
w/ Maria Isabel Lopez

Ghost House - A True Story 猛鬼屠房 (1994) 3/5
presented a new way for a crippled possessed guy to have sex

Obsessed 鬼揞眼 (1983) 1.5/5

Red Spell Spells Red 紅鬼仔 (1983) 3.5/5
Very good! It's on many peoples rare collections list and I recommend watching it

The Rape After 淫種 (1986) 4/5
If you ever wanted to see a legitimate Junji Ito styled story come to life, then this is for you.

Centipede Horror 蜈蚣咒 (1984) 4.5/5
Shot in the Philippines. Classic.

The Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires 七金屍 (1974) 3/5
Saw it posted by the Drive-in Mob. It's a collaboration between Hammer Films (UK horror Legends) and the Shaw Brothers (HK exploitation masters).

Devil Fetus 魔胎 (1983) 3.5/5
Had some real good effects. English title doesn't really make much sense and has a great final boss.

Spirit of the Raped 索命 (1976) 3.5/5
This was from 1976? wow. A rape (more than physical rape though) and revenge ghost story. Definitely recommended.

and some non HK horror but still horror movies:

Blood Freak (Brad F. Grinter, Steve Hawkes, 1972) 3.5/5

< This guy got so fucked up by 70s drugs that he turned into a turkey

Itim (The Rites of May, Mike De Leon, 1977) 5/5

How to Disappear Completely (Raya Martin, 2013)
It's horror, without the horror. Do you understand?

The Conjuring 2 (James Wan, 2016) I really wanted to love it. But damn Elvis? That was boring as hell.

So that's been a summary of something. I'm watching Rick and Morty too. Great stuff, great stuff.

How are you guys?

Haunted doll

A little back story for those tl;dw people: Some kids don't have friends, but even if the majority does, I think we all went through the same kid phase of wanting to turn our favorite toys into real life friends.

A best friend forever.

Well, here's Robert the Doll.

Childhood friend of painter and author Robert Eugene Otto.
Robert the Doll is allegedly cursed and rumored to be able move about by himself, grinning at children through the windows (Robert was confined to the Attic when Otto found his true best friend forever; His wife). He also fucks up Otto when he can, making him beat up his wife and leaving Otto only able to explain that "It was Robert, Robert did it!". Also rumored to giggle. I isolated that line because dolls that laugh are horrifying. Fuck right? Well watch the videa. He also served as the inspiration for the Child's Play series! Getting back to the story: When the family finally moved out, the house left behind was turned into The Artist House, Now a guesthouse (Imagine the stories there) and Robert now lives in The East Martello Museum (click link for testimonies, Robert still up to his ol' tricks

(Excited) Last V

Well it's been exactly a week I think, It's time to post the most recent 5 again.

Wall. As you can see, up to Dead Alive (wet dreams for me) It has been a shit-fest. Acceptable sized Alternative posters (If available) and side comments to come later. But it wasn't such an excrement-related-adjective-here Movie week for me. I's watched some gems and some acceptably good ones: Slaughterhouse-Five by George Roy Hill, Billy Pilgrim cast perfectly, A Guillermo Del Toro remake is also rumored to be made, 1972 (5❤); I attended alongside my girlfriend the Philippine-Japan Friendship month film viewing event and watched 5 Centimeters Per Second and The Place Promised in Our Early Days both by Makoto Shinkai, 2007 (3.5) 2004 (3) respectively; and Chop Suey by Catherine O. Camarillo, 2007 (4) none of the mentioned are horror films. I'll try to refrain from thesums. kind of posts.

[spot reserved for posters and side fries]

Also been back on track with the eerie and grotesque by reading The Drifting Classroom by Kazuo Umezu (1972-1974) A nightmarish (seriously I had a nightmare about one of it's suffocating scenes, was awesome) Post-Apocalyptic Horror. Sounds good? Good.

Here's a sample (Remember: you read it from right to left [it's already mind fucking])

Last V (Horror Movies)

Really slow month for my horror tastes. I left out some of the other "Horror" movies, which I liked, but doesn't really fit in. Those movies were Suicide Club by Shion Sono, 2001 (3.5); Stoker by Chan-wook Park, Hollywood debut 2013 (4.5 ❤); and Noriko's Dinner Table by Shion Sono, Indirectly "Suicide Club 2" 2006 (4.5 ❤)

So for my valid last five ones, here's some high-def posters (Alternates, also click for larger photo) and some side comments.

Hausu
Nobuhiko Ôbayashi
(Japan, 1977)

My thoughts on this Movie:

I MUST BE ON ACID

Dark Skies
Scott Stewart
(USA, 2013)

My thoughts on this Movie:

Suburban Horror, Kids friends with demons.. I mean Aliens. It's Aliens that are friends with them this time. Uhh..I should've watched the other Dark Skies 2013 movie:

That would've been so Awesome
and hilarious

Evil Dead
Fede Alvarez
(USA, 2013)

My thoughts on this movie:

I was a fan of the original The Evil Dead Series, mostly on 1 & 2. 3, not so much. Too much comedy. This was an okay take, An Adult version of the All style and No Substance (Perfectamundo) The Evil Dead but this wasn't so bad. My friend (who hasn't watched the original series) just kept looking for plot holes each scene cause it was ripped on by some female celebrity on twitter (some of which were actually pretty logical for Evil Dead, It's all in the newly polished Naturom Demonto) and hated it so uh. You shouldn't do that. But if you do find that you actually hate it, good for you. I am on the neutral side (3/5). I liked some of the references from 1 & 2 though (Chainsaw-arm mostly) and found some very weak (Natalie: [Robotically] oh my god what happened to her EYes. from Shelley:FOR GOD'S SAKE WHAT HAPPeNED TO HER EYESSS) Overall. Pretty average.

Texas Chainsaw 3D
John Luessenhop
(USA, 2013)
from some Hipster art guy buddies of VICE and-or Lionsgate

My thoughts on this movie:

No sir, I didn't. Leatherface has a new best friend. Also, expect the scene where Leatherface touches his new friendly (Do your thing, cuz) bff cousin's arm and BOOM. Boom sound goes off. That's right. Replace actual scares with boom sounds. That's pretty low. This modern take is low. Girls were nice though.

Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead
Noboru Iguchi
(Japan, 2012)

My thoughts on this movie:

I thought it was..

Crap-tastic

I learned that I love Japan (Not-a-weeaboo)

I left my other stills at home. But this was an awesome movie. 8/10 (I like Evil Dead and Re-animator, Self-aware gorey slapsticks are the best)

Next on the list: RoboGeisha, Audition, Ringu and another movie my sister recommended that I can't remember. Then after those I'm going to finish our Western collection with Toolbox Murders and the like.

Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead

It's on the playlist for tewday

You guys

really need to buy the book Blink.

The Pistol Shrimp

Underwater guns man. Literally a bubble-gun. It can kill you. Just kidding. I don't know if it can. For a second it's as hot as the surface of the sun or something. Upon closer inspection, it looks like an underwater Hadouken.

this is a repost from my other blog

Well as of 8:06pm, 9/5/2012

I am currently reading

Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking

With the Penguin reprint cover, which I find better than the original. It's talks about using our inborn ability called "Thin-slicing" or our ability to gauge what is really important from a very narrow period of experience. We use it most of the time but we are unaware of it. The book explains how important and relevant snap decision making is as opposed to months or years of research. Basically, it means too much information can lead to wrong decisions because you stray too far from the main points.

As Gladwell says "This book is all about those moments when we 'know' something without knowing why". It shares amazing studies and experiences like how one Marriage Analyst can decipher in a 15 minute conversation between a newly married couple; with 95% accuracy, whether they would stay together or not. Another is a fireman who thought he had ESP but it was just his subconscious synthesizing his expertise with the situation in a second telling him and his crew to get out of the burning kitchen.

Instincts, Subliminal priming.. etc all in this book. Though I haven't finished it yet I'd give it a 5/5 for informing about these possibilities.

I am currently listening to.. while reading

Zs - New Slaves (The Social Registry, May 2010)
A Brooklyn based band which incorporates... well. It seems like random thrashing at first but it's actually composed hypnotically liked that. I like how I don't have to think about what's going on with it and just play it because it is what it is. Currently on the 20 minute title track that sounds like a very eclectic traffic jam.

The title of the track "Acres of Skin" also has an interesting back story.
quoted from villagevoice.com

What is the title "Acres Of Skin" about?

"Acres of skin" is a quote from the dermatologist Dr. Robert M. Kligman who conducted tests on prisoners in the Holmesburg prison in Pennsylvania. He was conducting experiments, which proved to be quite dangerous and permanently detrimental to his subjects. Later, when describing the environment he'd chosen for these experiments, he said something to the effect of "I walked into the prison and all I saw were acres of skin."

It’s about a guy that takes girls on the lake and kills them! though not really

"I'll suck the marrow out and break your bones, Yummy."..

was what I thought at first but turned out to be this:

"I'll suck the marrow out and rape your hollow bones, Yoni."

My personal tags for this band would be alternative-hip hop, folk, and in a rush with wet coke in a Starbucks bathroom with the door closed hiding from my friends in the bathroom at Thrift Town to write this tune down. did anyone hear my cry there? through a toilet stall divider-core

For fans of anything.

WONT BE POSTING ANY MORE BECAUSE OF SHITTY FONT PROBLEMS WITH BLOGGER

Monday, October 24, 2011

Currently Digging: October

I apologize for the lack of creepiness in my recent posts. I'll try to make more posts like that in the near future.

Anyway, Here's an unnecessary list of what I've been up to this month. It's my semestral break by the way so this is the only time that I am truly free. :) Treat as "Things I recommend/Don't recommend".

Video Games:

I've been playing a lot games for the DS. The most recent one being:
Harvest Moon DS: Sunshine Islands (really gay name)

It's (kind of) a port of Harvest Moon: Back to Nature (PSOne) to the DS, it has almost the same characters but they're renamed and redrawn. Mineral Town characters make an appearance sometimes.

I'm also trying to finish lots of RPG games via DS. I'm using emulators with it like the Lameboy (for gb/gbc) and SNEmulDS (for snes, the link is a direct download).

Animorphs with the lameboy
Link to review: http://thathingwearingmommieskin.blogspot.com/2011/10/animorphs.html

Music:

Still listening to The Smiths, as you can see. But more The Queen is Dead and The original s/t and less Meat is Murder.

Lit/Manga:

Been reading Charles Dicken's Great Expectations. And a bunch of stuff by Shintaro Kago.

of which I'm going to share right now :)
