It’s about a guy that takes girls on the lake and kills them! though not really

"I'll suck the marrow out and break your bones, Yummy."..

was what I thought at first but turned out to be this:

"I'll suck the marrow out and rape your hollow bones, Yoni."

My personal tags for this band would be alternative-hip hop, folk, and in a rush with wet coke in a Starbucks bathroom with the door closed hiding from my friends in the bathroom at Thrift Town to write this tune down. did anyone hear my cry there? through a toilet stall divider-core

For fans of anything.

Trust - TRST

Arts & Crafts
2012

Dark-feels Synthpop. This is my most listened to album of 2012.

(Toronto-based)Arts & Crafts have released 2 of my favourites this year. The other being, The Darcys interpretation of AJA by Steely Dan. They kinda feel Slowcore-y or Shoegaze-y or atmoselectronic-ky

that was retarded

Warpaint

Warpaint is an all girl experimental/psychedelic/art rock band from LA. I want to see them live. I WANT to see them live. Really. The band has this kind of thick ethereal gloom (fuzzy guitar) sound which is exactly what I've been looking for these days. Oh and The Fool is now my final/proper AOTY.

Try out a track:

Why you wanna blame me for your troubles? Ah ah ah. lol

Undertow is the first track I've heard from them, Instantly fell in love.. with the album version.

Rakrakan Series XIII

I just came from this ($2.28 with a free beer) show. It was great but X and XII was better line-up wise. Anyway, the night was awesome too, even converted one friend to heavy music and had a friend enjoy his birthday in the mosh pit. lol. All artists were amazing but Intolerant and Greyhoundz (with Ian Tayao) were what did it for me. I felt sorry for Mr. Bones & The Boneyard Circus cause people didn't really like 'em, It's their first time playing at the fest too. Maybe they were too gimmicky, Idk. Bloodshedd's gimmicky too but we like 'em. All in all a great night, add to that the crazy cab we rode home (fucking insane driver, was trying to kill us. lol) Can't wait for the next one.

Ice Music

Quite possibly my AOTY. I didn't really find anything too new this year. (My most recent purchase, The Radio Dept., was good too. but just not, you know. AOTY.)

Terje Isungset plays music using Instruments made of Ice. Sound awesome? sounds pretty chill too. Listening to this while altered or with your eyes closed makes love. I'd tag this as winter ambient.

Artist Description:

Terje Isungset is one of Europe’s most accomplished and innovative percussionists. With over two decades experience in jazz and Scandinavian music he is taking these types of music far beyond their traditional boundaries, becoming more like a cross between a sound artist and a shaman. Crafting his own instruments from Norwegian natural elements such as arctic birch, granite, slate, sheep bells and even ice, he is highly recommended to those sensible to the poetry and simplicity of sounds. “Timbres” and “colours” are central in Terje Isungsets music and compositions.

Depressing

This has to be the most depressing thing I've heard or seen this year.

Quoted from Youtube:
Tells the story of the narrator, Wakefield, visiting a convenience store and his fleeting interaction with the tragic figure of the female store worker. Its heavy stuff, hitting on issues of discrimination "I feel she was raised to say a lot of stupid things about a color and I feel like, if, I identified myself as gay, this conversation would stop" the search for love: "I feel like shes been waiting here a long time for the one who'll come 2-stepping through that door on 18 wheels without making her feel like its her job to sweep up the nutshells alone when shes done been cracked again. A man who wont tempt her to suck the wedding ring off his dick, but will show her simply Love. "
The best description I can think of to sum this up is heart breakingly-uplifting, the end line being
"And I'm gonna roll outta here one day.
I just might not get to drive."
conjuring up death as a final way out of a less than perfect existence.

-rcdvst

I took everything in. Especially the lines at the end which I somehow can relate to.

Another Quote from Youtube:
I'm 6'2 covered in bad prison tattoos. And I never cry. I can't listen to this without loosing it. It fucks me up every time. If there is a god 'he lives in the heart of the man who wrote this.

-lexingtondiamonds

It's not a waste of 5 minutes.
Refreshing Facebook over and over again is a waste of 5 minutes.

Be sure to watch it.

I'm not sure how to tag this

I dunno but it's in the same vein as Alcest, Drudkh and the like so I assume they're like, Shoegaze/Black Metal/Post-something. I assure you it's good; bit atmospheric and all that. Oh and Last.fm has them tagged as "Romantic Black Metal" does sound a bit romantic. lol.

Band Biography: Morose is a one-man romantic black metal project from Scotland. Formed in 2006 by Ashen, he released one demo the following year, demo's called ‘Opaque’. Some songs do have a bit of black metal parts ala Le Secret-era Alcest. I don't know why these kind of one man bands don't bother with naming a track (lol I and II) but if they think that's more artistic..fine. Embers in the Sky sounds like a happy carnival in winter. Anyway, you should really give this a try, lol last sentence sounded weird I know.

Try out a track here:

what's your name? I think It's best if we don't bother with names
how will I thank you if I don't have your name?Morose - The Scent of your dying rose, track one from Opaque (2007)

There's no telling when he'll release his debut "Autumn Poetry" but I think It's coming soon probably by q4 of this year. I don't really have much info about this band since the Myspace page is long gone.

Anyway, to end this uninformed post; here's the download link to the demo:

Brooding, Creeping Death.

The Angelic Process - Weighing Souls With Sand (2007)

That's pretty much what I think while I listen to The Angelic Process. Been listening to this for a while now alternating with EF. lol I'm in the mood for Fuzz guitar these days. It mellows me out. Anyway, The Angelic Process is an Atmospheric/Shoegaze/Ambient Drone Metal band from Macon, Georgia, United States creating, I dunno, soundscapes of relating to the sound of when a person is dying. and sad. dying sadly. without a wife.

try em out here:

Oh, and BAND BIOGRAPHY TIEM:
Formed in 1999 (with their debut issued in 2001), The Angelic Process have spent the last 8 years creating some of the most exciting and unique music ever heard. Pioneers and figureheads of the Ambient Drone Metal subgenre of extreme music, their influence can be found in numerous bands that have come of age in their wake. With a sound that fuses the layered guitar drone of My Bloody Valentine, the epic sound and tribal thump of Neurosis, the emotional bloodletting of Jarboe/Swans, and complex, yet fluidly shifting time signatures, The Angelic Process have forged new musical ground and over the course of numerous on labels all over the world, have refined and defined a sound that one person described as "the sound my soul makes".

The Angelic Process live is no less as intense. Blasting noise, complex melodies, droning guitar resonance, rippling bass, tom-heavy tribal drums, and hauntingly emotional vocals collide to create violently ambient songs that have a definite shape and progression, but envelope the audience in warm, bombastic soundscapes.

Lavender Town

sounds like death creeping around on tip toes.

I never liked Lavender Town. I like to lie a lot though. Anyway, Here's some stories about my favorite town on Fairy Pokemon Island.

/

When "Pokemon" was first released in Japan, there was an odd phenomenon between children ages 7-12, particularly in those using headphones to listen to the sound effects. Increase of nosebleeds, irritability, insomnia, and addiction to the game, playing for hours and hours on end and crying to the point of vomiting when the opportunity was taken away.

Roughly 70% of these cases ended in suicide.

In almost every case of the aforementioned symptoms, despite gameplay time recorded to the limit of the internal clock, the game had not progressed further than "Lavender Town".

A closer analysis of the game revealed a tone in the audio of the music for "Lavender Town" at a pitch undetectable by fully developed human ear drums. Within weeks every unsold copy of the "first edition" the game were recalled silently and the game was re-released with re-mastered audio for "Lavender Town".

The widely known version is said to be missing three extra tones, as well as the unique, binaural tone of the first edition, although this is unconfirmed due to the rarity of working first edition copies; in the known few that remain, the internal clock and 'battery save' have all timed out and ceased function, and in many cases the game will freeze upon entering any battle.

The details of the story began to be passed around in mid 1997, said to originate from http://www.cornus.lensig.net/index538a.html, a defunct URL without credibility.

YouTube embed is the widely known second edition version of the "Lavender Town" song, if you don't remember how it sounds or never have known.

In the original Pokémon Red/Blue, when you encounter your rival in Lavender Town he asks whether or not you know what it's like to have one of your Pokémon die. At this point in the game, he no longer has his Raticate that he used in previous battles*.

Your rival battle before this took place aboard the S.S. Anne. Your rival's Raticate sustained serious injuries from the battle...but, because crowding and confusion on the luxury liner, he was unable to make it to a Pokémon Center in time and the Raticate passed away. The real reason your rival is in Lavender Town to begin with is to lay his deceased friend to rest.

*bet you never noticed that before. I didn't. tis awesome.

OKAY HERE'S MY STORY. AFTER READING BOTH OF THESE, FEELING NOSTALGIC AND AWESOME (LIKE I ALWAYS DO, FUCK; I'M AWESOME), I DOWNLOADED THE GAME AND DECIDED TO PLAY THROUGH IT AGAIN SO I COULD CHECK THE RATacate THING AND THE CREEPY BINAURAL BEATY MUSIC SHIT. IT WAS 3AM THEN, I WAS PLAYIN PLAYIN PLAYIN GOT SOME BALLS THEN I CAUGHT MYSELF ONE OF THOSE BIRDS THAT YOU FIND ON THE GRASS THEN I PRESSED START AND POKEMON>BIRD>STAT THEN THE LAVENDER TOWN MUSIC STARTED PLAYING AND MY FACE

>My Face

mah day at the beach

Sucked. Ass.

Listened to Khanate (con-ate) on the whole trip, thought I'd share them. Music is creepy as fuck. dissonant, heavily down-tuned guitar/bass figures, extremely slow tempos, swarms of high-pitched feedback, and painfully shrieked vocals..not really for everybody.

I listened to the track "Wings From Spine" so much i memorized the damn lyrics without looking at 'em lol.

It went down bad And it's a sad life When angels break So easily I was bad And it's a sad life When clean hands go foul Help me for the way I am Before it wanes Forgive me Broken angel Broken angel Would an angel forgive? Would I let her? I was bad And it's a sad life When clean hands go foul Angels are easily broken And I broke one I broke one because I could Broken angel Broken angel

So deep that I'm not getting much of it. Anyway, here's Clean Hands Go Foul.

This is how I look like today

This is pretty much how I look like everyday.

I'm currently listening to Sunn O))) - bassAliens. This song broke my Speakers when I first listened to it about a year ago.

Anyway some info on Sunn O))) (Simply pronounced Sun): They're named after Sunn Amplifiers; the band's logo is exactly the same as the brand's. They added the O))) affix to their name (one could read the logo in this way). They're a drone/doom/experimental band from New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA; and they formed in 1998. The band’s core members consists of Stephen O'malley and Greg Anderson. Greg Anderson also runs the record label Southern Lord (Eagle Twin :3)

Awesome album art (this ones' from the vinyl version), has the most awesome album name I have ever heard (the unkindness of crows) and music is fucking-awesome. All in all an awesome record. Awesome.

Eagle Twin is a two-man doom metal / sludge outfit from Salt Lake City, Utah, United States formed in 2007 featuring Gentry Densley on baritone guitar / vocals and Tyler Smith on drums.
