Covetous

Covetous is a fucked-up flash game by AustinBreed. The character in this game may be resembling something notorious. idk. The description says the theme is greed. I don't see why that is though. Play it and think up your own conclusion.

Warpaint

Warpaint is an all girl experimental/psychedelic/art rock band from LA. I want to see them live. I WANT to see them live. Really. The band has this kind of thick ethereal gloom (fuzzy guitar) sound which is exactly what I've been looking for these days. Oh and The Fool is now my final/proper AOTY.

Try out a track:

Why you wanna blame me for your troubles? Ah ah ah. lol

Undertow is the first track I've heard from them, Instantly fell in love.. with the album version.

Rakrakan Series XIII

I just came from this ($2.28 with a free beer) show. It was great but X and XII was better line-up wise. Anyway, the night was awesome too, even converted one friend to heavy music and had a friend enjoy his birthday in the mosh pit. lol. All artists were amazing but Intolerant and Greyhoundz (with Ian Tayao) were what did it for me. I felt sorry for Mr. Bones & The Boneyard Circus cause people didn't really like 'em, It's their first time playing at the fest too. Maybe they were too gimmicky, Idk. Bloodshedd's gimmicky too but we like 'em. All in all a great night, add to that the crazy cab we rode home (fucking insane driver, was trying to kill us. lol) Can't wait for the next one.

Germania Anno Zero

"Filled with haunting images and unforgettable performances by real citizens (non-professional actors), Rossellini suggests the damage which had been done to an entire generation through the relentless brainwashing of fascism."
-summary from the back of the DVD.

Just finished watching this. It's set in Post-world war 2, Berlin. Germany Year Zero tells of Edmund Koeler, A twelve year-old child, And his family's struggle for Survival. His Father suffers from malnutrition and a fatal disease. His brother, Karl-heinz, Is a former Nazi soldier hiding from the police because he thinks he's going to be arrested if he surrenders and his sister, Eva who has turned to semi-prostitution. Shows life after the war, extreme poverty; how they can't consume more than 10 watts of electricity a month and where hot water is a luxury.

Here's a memorable line in the movie. Apparently the only one I wrote down. lol. I quote:
(Edmund's Father talking about the war/Hitler) "We saw disaster coming and did nothing to stop it. and today we suffer the consequences.." It's very sad, add to it that this came from an old suffering man tired of war.

Edmund Koeler walking away from kids that refused to play with him

I'll end this post with an excerpt from the beginning of the movie

"This movie aims only to be an objective and true portrait of this large, almost totally destroyed city where 3.5million people live a terrible, desperate life, almost without realizing it. They live as if tragedy were natural, not because of strength or faith, but because they are tired. This is not an Accusation or even a defense of the German people. It is an objective assessment. Yet if anyone, after watching Edmund Koeler's story, feels that something needs to be done- that German children need to relearn to love life-- then the efforts of those who made this movie will be greatly rewarded."

Great movie. Buy it.

Animorphs

[Originally posted, 10/24/2011. Just wanted to hide it.]
My goal for the next 2 weeks is to try and finish a lot of RPGs. I'm starting with Animorphs since it starts with the letter 'a' which unfortunately, makes it the first one on my list.

Will you still
love me in the morning

The gameplay..

Well it's kind of a bit like pokemon. But you don't catch the creatures. No. You become the creatures. See here. Once you defeat an animal like this goat, You can morph into it.

Now I feel so much stronger.
And safer.
Now that I'm a motherfucking goat.

I don't really know the story. I haven't watched nor read anything about this series yet. I just know that the world is being taken over by Aliens called 'yeerks'

and that they have the world surrounded with phallic shaped spacecrafts.

The gameplay is a bit confusing.
but anyway I've discovered that you can:

morph into different animals

roam around as an animal

fight aliens as an animal

and lastly,

play with the pet shop owners snake

This game is for the GBC by the way. I'm playing it with a homebrew for the Nintendo DS called lameboy.

End post.

Ice Music

Quite possibly my AOTY. I didn't really find anything too new this year. (My most recent purchase, The Radio Dept., was good too. but just not, you know. AOTY.)

Terje Isungset plays music using Instruments made of Ice. Sound awesome? sounds pretty chill too. Listening to this while altered or with your eyes closed makes love. I'd tag this as winter ambient.

Artist Description:

Terje Isungset is one of Europe’s most accomplished and innovative percussionists. With over two decades experience in jazz and Scandinavian music he is taking these types of music far beyond their traditional boundaries, becoming more like a cross between a sound artist and a shaman. Crafting his own instruments from Norwegian natural elements such as arctic birch, granite, slate, sheep bells and even ice, he is highly recommended to those sensible to the poetry and simplicity of sounds. “Timbres” and “colours” are central in Terje Isungsets music and compositions.

December

Happy first of December to everybody.

Christmas is just around the corner/month of sharing/santaclausisdeadtl;dr etc.

I bring you gifts :3

Pic related, Merry Christmas douchebags

Here's Army of One, Tells the story of just download it. A bonus on Junji Ito's (Uzumaki) Hellstar Remina series. The protagonist is kinda like me IRL in a way :( The story has Christmas and sewing. Just download it.

and of course the main story, Hellstar Remina:

This is a horror/sci-fi story about a giant planet consuming creature from another dimension that a scientist discovers and mistakenly identifies as a planet. Being given the honor to name it as its discover, the professor chooses to name it after his only daughter, Remina, but when Hellstar Remina is headed on a direct collision course with Earth the world goes nuts and all the people in the city start a witch hunt to kill Remina, thinking she is somehow to blame.
